The friendly family camp site Le Canigou is located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the sunny South of France in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. You will find everything here for an unforgettable camping holiday: the site is surrounded by overwhelming nature and the grounds themselves offer plenty of privacy as the pitches are separated by greenery.

A special feature of this camp site is the small river. Its source is on the Canigou, a high mountain after which the camp site is named. A dam has been built in the river that criss-crosses the site,

creating a natural swimming pool with clean water. Wonderful for the children! Plastic sandals are recommended because of the stones on the river bed. The recreational lake at Vinça (5 km) is much bigger and here you can go swimming and canoeing. This camp site is a winner with sports enthusiasts: a professional organisation enthusiastically arranges rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking and other adventurous activities.

Or you can take a spectacular drive to Andorra! Also interesting in this area are the castles of the Catharen fortresses and various monasteries. The area is also very varied: the mountains of the Pyrenees or if you want, a day by the sea! Espira-de-Conflent (close to Prades) is just 55 km from the Mediterranean beaches at Perpignan and as the crow flies only 25 km from Catalonia in Spain. South of the camp site there are few main roads, just peaceful countryside.
