A camp site in the heart of the Pfalz, Germany's largest wine producing area, know primarily for Riesling wine. Campingpark Pfalz is located in natural surroundings close to the highest point of the Pfalz, the Donnersberg. The Donnersberg region is a wonderful area for hiking (for example the Weinwanderweg in the Zellertal valley or one of the other hiking routes). There is a beautifully renovated swimming pool and toddlers' pool on the slightly sloping grounds of this camp site, and a small natural lake where you can also fish and sail boats. There is a basic shop and a restaurant,

you can play table tennis and there is a children's playground. There are tennis courts and an indoor swimming pool close to the camp site.

For trips further afield the possibilities are almost unlimited: there are wonderful castles along the Rhine and the Loreley rocks, famous for its legends... the Gerbach and the Donnersberg region are located just north of Kaiserslautern and Rockenhausen, close to the Pfälzer Wald Nature Park and not so far from the old German towns of Mannheim, Heidelberg and Mainz. Traces of Celtic civilisation can still be found in the area around the camp site.

If you have taken in enough culture you will be in the children's good books if you take them to Holiday Park in Hassloch, with thrilling attractions including the huge roller coaster! This part of Germany is at the same altitude as Luxembourg and Saarland. But you should take advantage of the opportunity to visit a wine tasting and take home a delicious bottle of Riesling as a souvenir!
