Family campsite Du Ried is located centrally in the Alsace, in the idyllic city of Boofzheim. It is a small town in France, at a convenient distance from the Netherlands, close to the German border and not far from the Rhine and the wine routes. This friendly campsite has its own lake. Furthermore, it is the perfect starting point from which to visit the varying landscape of forests, farmlands and little villages. The region is famous for the many storks that inhabit the area.
There are plenty of options for fun daytrips in the vicinity. Just to the south of Campsite Du Ried is the town of Colmar, a friendly town with timber houses. You can discover the region’s Alsace wines in the various surrounding villages.
The area is worth a visit for both young and old. The Europa Park amusement park is a great day out for the kids. This park, full of excitement and fun, is located just over the German border. Other ideas for a day out are the Pony Ranch in Herbsheim and the Aquapark Les Naïades in Ottrot. You can see crocodiles, sharks and piranhas in this waterpark. If you would rather go horse-riding, play golf or tennis, there are more than enough possibilities in the area.
You will find a supermarket with a broad selection at c. 300 metres. You don’t have to leave the campsite to enjoy yourself, neither young or old will get bored. At Campsite Du Ried you will find both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool with jacuzzi and sunbeds. There is a separate paddling pool for the littlest ones next to the outdoor pool.
There are plenty of activities like miniature golf, jeu de boules, a playground, football and volleyball fields and bicycle hire. In the summer months there is a complete programme of entertainment including canoe tours and shows. There is a bar at the campsite where you can taste characteristic Alsace wines. But if you want to take it a bit easier, you may find something to read in the library.
