Camping on the island of Île d’Oléron
You will find the Les Gros Joncs campsite in west France, sheltered by dunes in the woods of the Atlantic coast. The campsite has a very special location: the small island of Île d'Oléron, which is linked to the mainland by a bridge.
Beautiful sandy beach nearby
The famous Fort Boyard lies opposite the island, in the middle of the sea. You can enjoy a relaxing holiday in a landscape full of flowers and there is also plenty to do and discover in the area. There is a beautiful sandy beach close by (400m) and you can surf, sail, canoe, kayak and fish in the area.

Back at Les Gros Joncs campsite there is a lovely covered swimming pool and an outdoor swimming pool with a toddlers’ pool. In high season, there is also entertainment for children and a kids' club. For total relaxation, you can enjoy being pampered by one of the beauty specialists. You can enjoy delicious meals in the restaurant and buy fresh bread each morning from the bakery.
Authentic harbour towns
In the local area, you can visit a wine growing or oyster farming estate, the fishing locks, Fort Royer in Boyardville or the sailing museum. The authentic harbour towns of Royan and La Rochelle are also worth a visit.
