Camping close to Europe’s Grand Canyon
Camping RCN Les Collines de Castellane is a comfortable campsite close to Gorges du Verdon, Europe's Grand Canyon. The fantastic location between the French Alps and Côte d’Azur is perfect for interesting, fun and adventurous day trips. Provence, with its romantic temptations, culinary treats, smells, colours, tastes and joie de vivre plus rugged mountain landscapes, has all the ingredients for an active camping holiday.
Swimming and outdoor paradise
Camping RCN Les Collines de Castellane has a leisure pool with waterfall and triple slide. If you're camping in this part of France, outdoor sports are no doubt high on your list of things to do. There is a fantastic climbing course in the Adventure Park with guide, plus there are five different zip lines over the slides in the swimming pool, tennis court, through the forest and, the longest which is more than 160 metres long, over the football field. There is also outdoor fitness, sports fields and sports equipment. The surroundings of the campsite offer many a sporting challenge, including paintballing, survival, canoeing, rafting, canyoning, horse riding, paragliding and archery, plus hiking, cycling and mountain biking.
Everything is available
In addition, there's no shortage of refreshment opportunities, with a restaurant with patio, bar, snack bar and pizza corner. There is a small shop offering basic provisions, and there is a more comprehensive supermarket just seven kilometres away
For the children, there is a culinary workshop every week during the high season, plus Fun2Dance where the children can go completely crazy while dancing. Or maybe they prefer to make something nice for mum and dad in the craft club.
Too much choice in this lovely part of France
Explore the area and hike through the beautiful old villages and historic towns, visit colourful markets with local specialities, ride through hilly lavender fields, descend into a gorge, have fun on a paddle boat or take a trip on a steam train. Alongside the impressive Gorges du Verdon, Gorges de Cians and Gorges de Daluis are absolute must-sees! Plus, don't forget Sillans La Cascade waterfall, Roc de Castellane, Musée des Citroën just outside Castellane, the perfume museum in Grasse and the fashionable coast of the Côte d’Azur.
