Burgundy enjoyment in the hospitable Achterhoek
Vast fields, green forests and a swimming pool where you can jump in whenever you want. Camping De Wrange is hidden under the trees of the Koekendaal nature reserve, just a stone's throw away from Doetinchem. The children have the time of their lives in the playground, by the swimming pool or the animation team. And the campsite is also a great place to discover the region and get to know the Burgundian life in the Achterhoek.
Camping in the forest
Camping De Wrange is a lovely holiday spot in the middle of the forest. You camp in the heart of the Achterhoek. And so you are surrounded by lots of greenery, extensive meadows, charming villages and old farmhouses. Moreover, this region is also known for its Burgundian life. There are plenty of places for a nice snack and drink and in the summer months it is bursting with fun festivals, events and fairs.
Always water fun
The heated swimming pool is centrally located on the campsite. Take a dip in the large pool or play with the children in the paddling pool. Enjoy hours of water fun and cool off after a day in the sun. Or you can enjoy the sun on the sunbathing lawn and give yourself an extra dose of vitamin D. The swimming pool complex is surrounded by a fence so that children cannot walk on it unsupervised. However, it is very safe.
On the campsite there is something for every family member to do. The children enjoy themselves in the beautiful playground with lots of play equipment. In the May holidays and in high season there is also an animation team that likes to go out with them. Sports and games tournaments, barbecues and bingo's are also organised for the whole family. Or you can play a nice game of minigolf together. Of course all that sport and play will make you hungry. Luckily, there is a campsite shop where you can get fresh rolls and you can take a meal to your pitch at the restaurant. Or you can sit down for a burgundian dinner and a drink on the terrace.
Lots of freedom
Camping De Wrange has spacious pitches. The pitches are not situated under trees, but on various sheltered lawns bordered by hedgerows. The fields all have a different layout, so there is a nice spot for every type of camper. You can also choose to rent your own chalet or safari tent. Moreover, sanitary facilities are very good. All rooms are heated and there is a separate baby room.
On the way
There is plenty to do in the Achterhoek. For example, you can actually hook up anywhere on a beautiful cycling or walking route, right through the farmland and charming villages. But the Koekendaal nature reserve, the Kruisberg woods, the hilly Montferland or the Slangenburg estate are also nice areas to explore. Doetinchem is buzzing with life. The city has a number of historic buildings, cosy squares and interesting museums. In addition, fun events are regularly organised. Absolutely a must for a day out.
