Eight amusement parks and playgrounds in Belgium

25 April, 2022

For many children, a visit to an amusement park or playground is the best fun there is. Exciting roller coasters, splashing water rides, fun shows and all kinds of things to climb on, swing from and slide down. And as for adults, these parks can make you instantly feel like a kid again. Belgium is an amusement park country par excellence. Just take a look!

In terms of theme parks, the little country of Belgium has a lot to offer. A number of parks can be reached from campsites in Belgium as well as campsites in the neighbouring country of the Netherlands. And, of course, the ones in the south can be reached from We’ve listed the eight coolest amusement parks and playgrounds in Belgium for you.

1. Bobbejaanland: a place for exciting adventures

For a day of fun with the whole family, the famous amusement park Bobbejaanland is a great idea. With over forty attractions, there is plenty for everyone to enjoy. Are you ready for adventure? Then brave the waterfalls of El Rio, take a ride in the lightning-fast Revolution or give the cowboys a hand with your own laser gun in El Paso. And do you dare to check into the Nightmare Motel? Upon arrival you are given a set of keys, but unfortunately you don’t seem to have any use for them. Will you and your children still manage to escape the old hotel residents and get outside within eight minutes?

In this dizzying roller coaster, you spin 360 degrees in your little cart while being tossed back and forth between trees. Especially for the little ones, there is Kinderland. This indoor playhouse with its large slide, merry-go-round, climbing track and other mini-attractions, is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. The adjacent café area is a great place to enjoy a drink and a snack. You can easily keep an eye on your offspring from here. The attractions of Mega Playtown are ideally suited for young visitors. For example, there are enclosed play areas for children up to the age of three. And what fun they will have in the Flying Beaver, the bumper cars, the mini roller coaster Disco Twister and the Crazy Cans. They can also climb, clamber and jump in abundance in the play cage and on the bouncy castle.

5. Queen Fabiola Playground: playing among nature

This playground has a beautiful location on top of the citadel of Namur. Namur, in the south of Belgium, is definitely worth a visit. The citadel is located on a hundred-metre-high hill above the city. Here you can not only enjoy the panoramic view over the river Sambre, but also the Parc Attractif Reine Fabiola (Queen Fabiola Amusement Park). ‘Amusement park’ might be a bit too much of a stretch, the park is perhaps better described as a big nature playground. Children ages three to twelve can have fun in cable cars, on walkways, trampolines, playground equipment and a climbing course.

What makes the playground so enjoyable is its friendly atmosphere and natural surroundings. And with an entrance fee of only three euros, a visit is also very affordable. The communal barbecue and picnic area (with an outdoor café) is the place where young and old can catch their breath with a snack and a drink. The entire playground is beautifully landscaped and well maintained.

  • From Calais to Cannes and from Nantes to Nancy. You could say I explored quite a bit of France in the past. Together with my parents and brother, we'd go camping for weeks on end in a trailer tent at the best campsites. Later, we went through the rest of Europe in a motorhome. Nowadays, I really enjoy cultural city breaks with my wife. Oh yes, despite my fear of heights, I love cliff railways and cable cars.
