TAIGA Lake Caspe

TAIGA Lake Caspe

Holiday by the water in inland Spain

At TAIGA Lake Caspe, you can enjoy nature, peace and quiet, and outdoor activities in the beautiful Spanish countryside. The campsite sits on the shores of the Mequinenza Reservoir – with a coastline stretching 500 kilometres, it’s the perfect destination for anyone who loves to spend their holiday on the water, swimming, boating or fishing. The rugged cliffs and pine forests surrounding the lake are great for walking and cycling. In the evening, enjoy a tasty meal on the campsite and admire the starry sky, before setting off the next day on a road trip to Zaragoza or Barcelona. In short, it’s a wonderful holiday spot for all ages!

Camping by the Caspe reservoir

TAIGA Lake Caspe enjoys a unique location – right on the banks of the Mequinenza Reservoir, also known as the Sea of Aragón. Hire a paddleboard, canoe, motorboat or pedalo directly from the campsite and spend long, lazy afternoons out on the water. Anglers will be in their element here too – the lake is known as one of Europe’s top fishing spots. On hot days, the outdoor pool on the campsite is a great place to cool off or simply relax on the grassy area beside it.

From barbecue evenings to the food truck

The campsite is friendly and easy to get around, with everything close at hand. Children can join the entertainment team or play in the playground next to the bar, while parents enjoy a drink on the shaded terrace. In the evening, head to the restaurant for pizza, tapas or a burger – or try something from the new food truck overlooking the lake. Prefer to cook for yourself? There’s a dedicated barbecue area with tables and lighting. Active guests can rent kayaks or pedalos, explore the lake, or follow one of the local mountain bike trails. And if you’d rather unwind, you’ll always find a peaceful spot under the pine trees.

The surroundings

The area around Caspe is full of surprises. From the campsite you can walk or cycle through pine forests and rolling hills, or follow one of the scenic routes along the water with viewpoints over the lake. For shopping or a pleasant evening out, drive to the small town of Caspe, about 20 minutes away. The nearest large city is Zaragoza (120 km), where families can enjoy a guided bike tour or explore one of the many city parks.

The region of Aragón borders both Catalonia and Valencia – two popular destinations full of attractions: vibrant cities, historic landmarks, nature reserves and, of course, the beaches of the Costa Brava. It’s around a two-hour drive to the coast.

Still, most visitors come to TAIGA Lake Caspe for an active, authentic holiday in inland Spain – the ideal place to fish, sail, hike and relax!
