It was only an hour or so from vesuvius and pompeii. The nearest town was awful though.
Campsites in Campania are the perfect base for discovering Southern Italy and offer some fantastic camping opportunities. You might choose to enjoy a week or more on a campsite near Naples, or maybe you would prefer the idyllic Gulf of Sorrento. This Burgundian region is well known for many reasons, the most famous being pizza, espresso and spaghetti!
The principal town in the province of Campania is Naples. Campsites around Naples are typically situated next to the sea, both in and around the Gulf of Naples, which is home to one of the most beautiful areas of coastline in the world, the Amalfi Coast.
The coast of Campania is a fantastic place for enjoying the beach and for immersing yourself in the culture of Amalfi and Sorrento. What is more, don’t miss the islands of Capri and Ischia, a paradise where you can while away your holiday on magnificent white sands.
Campsites in Campania offer the ideal opportunity to fully relax in a tent, mobile home or even between the palm trees around the swimming pool./p>
There are a great many sights for you to enjoy around your campsite. Campania will leave you amazed by what it has to offer.

The immediate area was uninspiring, although there are good rail links to places like rome and naples. Please be aware though that our experience was coloured by a large number of wild fires in the area, and under different circumstances we may have felt more inspired.
