It was only an hour or so from vesuvius and pompeii. The nearest town was awful though.

With a diameter of 8 kilometres, the impressive Mount Vesuvius is a must-see on a camping holiday in Campania.
- Pompeii and Herculaneum
At the foot of Mount Vesuvius are the famous ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum, ancient Roman towns destroyed by a volcanic eruption.
In Paestum you can discover authentic Greek temples, plus the museum of Paestum houses a selection of impressive sculptures.
You will quickly immerse yourself in Neapolitan culture during your camping holiday in Campania, but don’t forget to try some of the typical Italian dishes and drinks from the region, such as espresso, spaghetti and the world-famous Italian ice cream. It will certainly taste better in the beautiful surroundings of your campsite in Campania!
The immediate area was uninspiring, although there are good rail links to places like rome and naples. Please be aware though that our experience was coloured by a large number of wild fires in the area, and under different circumstances we may have felt more inspired.
