Sightseeing around Lake Garda

Lake Garda is ideal for water sports: pedalo boating, surfing, sailing and much more. Naturally you can also just sunbathe and laze on the water or at your campsite. Near Lake Garda are cultural towns with many attractions. We recommend:

  • Verona
Verona is a typical Italian town, full of history and monuments. Beautiful and very worthwhile are the Roman amphitheatre, the Roman bridge of Ponte Pietra and the castle of Castelvecchio.
  • Brescia
West of the lake lies the beautiful city of Brescia. Be sure to visit the Cathedral of Brescia, this consists of the Old (12th century) and the New Cathedral (1604), which has one of the highest domes in Italy.
  • Vicenza
In Vicenza the work of the Italian architect Andrea Palladio has a strong presence. His designs include the Renaissance building of Basilica Palladiana and the beautiful Teatro Olimpico; the oldest surviving enclosed theatre in Europe.
