A number of city excursions are also possible from your campsite. Bolzano, the principal city in the region of Trentino-South Tyrol is well worth a visit. This town is known as the ‘gateway to the Dolomites’. The historical town centre is home to sights including the South Tyrol Archaeological Museum.

For children there is the impressive Trostburg Castle in the Eisack Valley (Valle Isarco), dating back to the 12th century. The Knight’s Hall is certainly worth a visit, as is the beautiful countryside surrounding the campsite.

The ancient Italian city of Trento is highly recommended during a stay on a campsite in the Dolomites. The town reflects a mixture of Italian and Germanic culture, and is bursting with monuments from the renaissance. Interesting buildings include the gothic cathedral and Fountain of Neptune on Duomo san Vigilio, and Del Buonconsiglio Castle.

    If you love cycling, then the Dolomites, with their myriad cycling routes, are perfect. You can also go mountain biking along the many rock massifs.
  • Water sports
    The many rivers and lakes in the Dolomites offer plenty of activity in the summer, from canoeing and kayaking to surfing, rafting and sailing. A holiday in the Dolomites really gives you the opportunity to live life to the full!
