General information
Italian holiday paradise with a beach and water park
Enjoy sunshine, sea and a wide sandy beach at this campsite on the Italian coast. Gitavillage California is a welcoming family campsite in Montalto di Castro, in the Lazio region. There is a lovely swimming pool on site, although the warm waters of the Mediterranean may be even more tempting. You can hear the sea as you stroll around the campsite, so it will come as no surprise that the beach is right next door. Fancy more than simply lazing by the water for an afternoon? There is plenty to do on site, with sports, entertainment and good food all close at hand.
Plenty of shade
The campsite is set among tall pine trees, which provide welcome shade on hot summer days. During the day and in the evening, the entertainment team organises a range of activities for all ages, including games, sports and shows. Many Italian holidaymakers stay here too, so Italian is the main language spoken. Even so, everyone is welcome to join in and the entertainment team does its best to make sure you and your children have a great time. There is also a children’s playground. At Gitavillage California, you will find an on site shop with a good selection of groceries and local produce, so there is no need to leave the campsite for your everyday shopping.
Sun, sea and swimming
From the campsite, you can walk straight onto the wide sandy beach. You can choose between a free stretch of beach or an area where sun loungers and parasols can be hired. So there is always a pleasant spot to spend a day by the sea. Prefer the pool? The water park has separate areas for adults and children, with water play features and plenty of space to relax. Sun loungers and parasols are available around the pool. Please note that swimming caps are compulsory in the pool.
Beach volleyball, tennis and plenty of sport
There are plenty of ways to keep active during your holiday. Play a game of beach volleyball, tennis or table tennis, or join in with basketball or football. There is also outdoor fitness equipment available. Fancy getting out on the water? You can go canoeing or hire a pedalo, among other activities. Worked up an appetite? The restaurant serves local specialities, including delicious Italian pizza and pasta. Finish off with a proper Italian ice cream and you have a perfect end to the day for both you and your children.

There is plenty to discover away from the campsite too. Rome is around 100 kilometres away and makes a great day trip. Closer by, you will find Tarquinia at around 23 kilometres and Vulci at approximately 20 kilometres. Looking to completely unwind during your holiday? The thermal springs of Saturnia, around 55 kilometres away, make for a special day out. It is easy to combine relaxing days on the beach with culture, nature and charming Italian towns.
